The club’s premier matchplay competition is now down to the last four and the semi-final pairings have thrown up two very interesting matches.
Eugene O’Doherty will take on James Corrigan and both are experienced in matchplay but James who has drifted out from a single figure handicap to a a dangerous mark could just shade this game. But Eugene is a cool operator and will be there if James is not at his very best. The other game puts the ever consistent Malachy Deery against Bernard Gilbane who thrives on a match at his home course. This one is too close to call with the winner here likely to be favourite to go on and claim outright victory.
