On Sunday last with home advantage the Rossmore Senior Cup team entered the matchplay stages of this competition in confident mood. They took on Lisburn Golf Club in the 5 singles matches and with every game closely contested and three games needing extra holes to decide a winner one can imagine how tense an occasion this turned out to be. Seasoned campaigners Ronnie Berry and Dermot McCrystal both won their matches to give Rossmore real hope but alas they lost out on a 3 – 2 scoreline with one game taking 3 extra holes to decide a winner. For the record the other team members were Conor Callan, Ciaran Lavery and Rory O’ Doherty. A great team effort and a valuable learning experience for the very talented younger team members.
