Damian Walsh Wins Jimmy McKenna Memorial Cup (Demo)

Damian Walsh claimed his first major singles competition at the weekend when he claimed the Jimmy McKenna Memorial Cup a golfer of the year competition. Damian shot 40pts off a 14 handicap which is excellent shooting around Rossmore at present. This competition is a much sought after cup each year and Damian did well to secure victory. Beaten on the countback and having to settle for second place also on a score of 40pts was Vice Captain John Heffernan playing off a 10 handicap. In third place on 39pts was last years Captain Donal Guckian. At the presentation on Saturday night the McKenna family were present to present the prizes. John McKenna presented the mens prizes and Catherine presented th eladies prizes. Gareth Mckenna spoke on behalf of the family and he promised to continue supporting this competition for many years to come. The Gross prize went to the ever consistent Ronnie Berry.
