The winner of the first singles of open week was 2008 Captain Nigel Graham with a fine 42pts. Nigel had drifted from a single figure handicap to a dangerous mark and he duly obliged on Saturday. In second place was the recently retired PJ McMorrow who is now totally focussed on his game. The Gross went to Ciaran Lavery who shot a course record 4 under par to underline his undoubted ability. In third place was “Mr Consistent” Barry O’Gorman with 39pts.
