The Rossmore Pierce Purcell team under captain Eugene McGinnity headed for the qualifying competition at Clones Golf Club on Sunday last with high hopes of getting through to the matchplay stages of this All Ireland competition. A combined team score of 354 was good enough to secure a second place finish and qualification for the knockout stages. They now play Clones at the Slieve Russell Golf Club. The team consisting of 5 pairs was Adrian Trappe and Dermot McMahon, Brendan Casey and Michael McQuaid, John McKenna and Alan Finnegan, Gerry McMahon and Darren Connolly, John Heffernan and Eugene McGinnity. Remember this team lost out in the Ulster Final last year and will be all out to go one step further this year.
