The final Golfer of the Year singles was claimed by Martin Doran when he shot a 68 to just edge out Gene Sherry also on 68 and in third place with another 68 was the in form Dermot Smyth. The Gross went to Ronnie Berry with 75 and the Junior prize went to James Owens who shot 72. The curtain now comes down on the major competitions for this year but for all those who started out with such high hopes there is always next year.
