Open Week Tuesday Singles Sponsored by Top Oil

The Tuesday singles at Rossmore Golf Club Open Week sponsored by Top Oil saw John McQuaid score a fantastic 45pts which was a round of 2 under gross off his handicap. In second on 40pts was Donal Guckian, third Tony Kelly 39pts and the Gross was won by Ciaran Lavery 35pts

Open Week Thursday Fourball Betterball .

Thursday’s Open Fourball Betterball competition sponsored byMonaghanDrivingRangewas again  well supported with scoring conditions very tough the winners with 40pts was Robbie Pillay and Trevor Connolly

Second also on 40pts was Paul Ward and Pat Murphy and third also on 40pts was Jim Fanning and Michael Nugent

Friday Open Singles(GOY) sponsored by M&S Electrical

A large entry for the week’s major singles stroke competition were faced with the course set up at its toughest and the scoring reflected just how difficult it was.

1st  Martin McKenna 70 , 2nd Sylvester Quinn 72, 3rd Tony Kelly 72 and the Gross went to Ronnie Berry 75 .

Interesting to note the winner Martin McKenna’s company M&S Electrical  was also the sponsor of this singles

Club Classic sponsored by McElvaney Waste and Recycling

The highlight of Open Week for many members was the 4 Person Club Classic on Saturday 14th July. This event was kindly sponsored by McElvaney Waste and Recycling.

The winning team scoring an impressive 108pts was Kevin McQuaid, Gary McQuaid, Paul McQuaid and Trevor Connolly.

Second on 106pts was John Heffernan, Thomas Heffernan, Finbar Heffernan and Noel O’Mahony/

Third on 101pts was Terry Connolly, Darren Connolly, Columba Gorman and Tony Kelly

Following his second place in the Classic Thomas Heffernan  played in the Captain’s prize at his home club Bellewstown on Sunday and emerged victorious with a  winning score of 63.

Inter Club Team News

The Ulster Cup team progressed to the Q/Final when they secured victory in the home leg against Ballyclare last weekend. Next up in the Q/Finals is Lisburn Golf Club.

The Pierce Purcell team travel to Tanderagee Golf Club on Friday to take on Finton  hoping to book a place in the Final of theUlstersection of this competition.

Swan Cup Qualifier

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July members have the Swan Cup Qualifier with the top 16 going through to the matchplay stages. This is a Golfer of the Year competition.

Lady Captains Prize for Men

From Saturday 21st July to Thursday 26th July members can play for the Lady Captain,s Prize for the men. This is an 18 hole singles stableford competition.
