CIARAN LAVERY TO TRY PRO TOUR SCHOOL NEXT MONTH
 
Monaghan lad and Rossmore member Ciaran Lavery is set to join the professional ranks in time to take part in the upcoming tour school events.
Ciaran born on the 14th July 1991 has been a member of Rossmore for a number of years and now plays off scratch. He has announced his intention to join the pro ranks in the coming weeks as he is booked to compete in the Alps Tour Qualifying event in Malaga Spain from the 10th to the 19th December 2013 where he will join 240 other professionals from all over Europe as they attempt to gain one of the tour playing cards on offer. A total of 65 golfers will make it on to the tour having come through 5 tough qualifying rounds. Ciaran is working hard on his game and is quick to acknowledge the assistance of a number of Rossmore members who have made financial contributions to assist him in what will be an expensive venture. Ciaran would like to thank Secretary Henry Durnin for all his work and help over the past weeks. Ciaran is very grateful to his main sponsor and fellow Rossmore member Mr Hugh McElvaney of McElvaney Waste and Recycling whose financial support will take a great deal of pressure off Ciaran and allow him concentrate on his golf.
Hugh McElvaney has stated that he is delighted to sponsor Ciaran in this venture and his company as a locally based business are always glad to be able to support talented young sportsmen as they strive to make it in the very competitive world of sport.
Ciaran also plans to go to the Euro Pro Tour qualifying event in April 2014 as his ambition is to progress through the ranks and move through the various Tours which is his ultimate aim  to make it on to the main European Tour.
