When Barry O’Gorman set out in the Thursday Open Singles on Thursday 12th May little did he think what a week lay ahead. In that competition he was a clear winner thus reducing his handicap from 8.5 to 8.1. Next up for Barry was the Swan Cup Qualifier on Saturday 14th May and a round of 75 gross gave him a nett 67 and the honour of leading qualifier. Again he saw his handicap reduced from 8.1 to 7.3. Then to complete the week Barry headed to Seapoint and again shot a score of 37pts and saw a further reduction to his handicap from 7.3 to 6.9. This was wonderful scoring by one of Rossmores most senior single figure handicapper and is an example to many of the younger golfers at the club. Well done to Barry and lets hope he can progress all the way in the matchplay stages of the Swan Cup.
